Gee… How Quaint: Give Wet Luggage the Sack and Stow Smalls in Style

08 May 2006 - Press Dispensary - Summer holidays no longer have to start with the puzzle of packing pants or end with a dilemma over damp delicates. Sussex designer, Cassandra Harrison’s Gee How Quaint brand (http://www.geehowquaint.com) launches a cute but cunning collection of purpose made luggage accessories in hand printed fabric, which guard against snagging stilettos on stockings and soaking a suitcase with a soggy swimsuit.

Cassandra Harrison’s web shop (http://www.geehowquaint.com) offers a selection of specially designed bags to enable women to organise and protect their lingerie, shoes and swimwear whether toting their clothes on a business trip, a weekend away, or an afternoon at the beach.

The bags come in several elegant and feminine signature designs. With its patented waterproof swimsuit roll, Gee How Quaint can boast a far sexier and more serviceable alternative to stuffing a wet bikini in a carrier bag. Owner, Cassandra says: "I wanted to offer people stylish solutions for various holiday packing dilemmas. I love going on holiday, but found trying to organise all of my stuff a bit tricky. It was important for me to design travel bags that were unique and fun for people to use, as well as easy to care for."

Today many customers are aware and wary of the sweatshop operations employed by most manufacturers; in contrast Gee How Quaint offers products crafted by local artisans. Cassandra explains: "I wanted to use the skills of people in the area and have found three very talented ladies to share the work. Working with them has been a joy, as well as very educational."

Steve Parks, author of 'Start Your Business Week by Week' says: "Like a true entrepreneur, Cassandra has found something that customers cannot be without once they have tried it. The products are high quality, and just overflow with character and style. I was so impressed with the ingenuity of the swimsuit bag - truly inspired."

All the bags available on the web shop are hand stitched by local seamstresses. Prices start at £16 for one knicker bag. All bags can be presented in ribbon-tied gift-boxes; there are also gift tokens available.

Cassandra plans to expand the collection regularly; a yoga mat carrier will be available mid-June 2006.

Notes for editors Gee How Quaint (http://www.geehowquaint.com) went live November 2005. Cassandra Harrison’s fabrics are designed and printed in her home studio in Crawley, Sussex. She is also engaged in design work in the U.S. and has illustrated a children’s book which is available on her website.
